New Delhi: The Supreme Court denied bail to antiquities fraud accused Monson Mavunkal in the case of molesting a minor girl. Following the observation that the allegations in the case are of a serious nature, the court informed that Monson cannot be granted bail. With this, Monson withdrew the petition in the Supreme Court.
The case against Monson is that he physically abused the employee’s daughter by promising her educational assistance. But Monson approached the Supreme Court pointing out that this was fabricated and that there was a conspiracy against him in the top level. He repeated these things in court. But the court said that the allegations in the case were serious and could not grant bail.
The High Court had earlier rejected Monson Mavunkal’s plea seeking bail in the POCSO case. After this, Monson filed a petition in the Supreme Court for bail. There are 3 harassment complaints against Monson including POCSO. The crime branch had stated in the charge sheet that the accused had continuously tortured the girl since 2018.
