Bengaluru: The Government orders the Department of Education to get a report on the activities of all Madrassas in the state. The order was taken in the background of the increasing anti national activities in association with Madrassas.
According to government figures, there are 960 Madrassas in the state. All activities in these centres must be informed to the Government. For this, a special committee has been formed under the leadership of the Education Commissioner.
The UP government had already started a survey to identify Madrassas that are functioning illegally. The Karnataka Government has also taken this step by adopting this model. On the basis of the report, there are indications that the functioning of the Madrassas that are operating illegally may be banned or bring them under control. Recently some people were arrested from Assam who were living in Madrassas and carried out terrorist activities.
