Kottayam: Today is Vijayadashami. The nine-day Navratri celebrations will conclude on Vijayadashami. Vijayadashami is the day when Saraswathi, the Goddess of learning, Durga, the Goddess of power, and Mahalakshmi, the Goddess of prosperity, are worshiped together.
In Kerala every Hindu believer begins their education by writing ”Hari Shree Ganapathaye Namah” ( a Hindu slogan). Lakhs of children today celebrate Harishree in temples and other cultural centers. After two years of corona restrictions, Vijayadashami is being celebrated extensively all over the state.
Panachikkadu temple in Kottayam district, known as Dakshina Mookambika, is crowded from morning onwards. In Kollur Mookambika temple ceremonies started early in the morning. Writing ceremonies are held at Tirur Thunchan Parambu, the birthplace of Ezhuthachan, Iranimuttom Thunchan Memorial in Thiruvananthapuram, and Poojappura Saraswathi Mandapam.
