Kollam: Soon after the nationwide raids that led to the ban of the Islamist terror group Popular Front of India by the Ministry of Home Affairs, shocking details of the well-planned criminal activities of PFI are coming out.
NIA informed that the PFI activists got arms training at Karunagappally, in Kollam district, Kerala. PFI conducted training here for the selected members from all over the nation. The crucial information was recorded while interrogating Abdul Sathar, State General Secretary of the banned organisation.
The terror centre provided training for extremists gathered from several parts of the Country, even to conduct explosions and targeted killings. The NIA has already started investigation on the people who have got training from Karunagappally centre.
A detailed search was held at the PFI Karunagappally office six months back. The search was upon the input from the Intelligence department and police got enough evidence on the armed training and the anti national activities. But, not even a step was taken to curb the criminal activities . As by the version of police, some CPM leaders’ interference made them stay passive.
NIA had earlier found that the crucial armed training centre of the PFI was functioning in Kerala.
The ban of PFI, the timely action taken by the Home Ministry, was a serious blow to the Islamist outfit that is a major threat to the internal security of the entire nation.
