Thrissur: The police have taken the owner of the killer bus that violated traffic rules and met with accident claiming nine lives, under custody this evening. Along with the bus owner Arun, his friends who helped the accused to go into hiding, were also trapped. Arjun A Kumar, native of Changanassery, Vishnu Gopan, native of Pala, Tito P T, native of Piravom are under custody. Police have also taken the car used by the accused under custody.
The culprits were on the run to Thiruvananthapuram. In an adventurous move, Chavara police captured them by overtaking their car. The accused were on their way to meet advocate. Jomon, who was driving the bus, reached Wadakkancherry E K Nayanar Hospital in disguise of a teacher and undergone treatment. Police have registered a case against Jomon under the section of unintentional killing.
Meanwhile, S Sreejith, the Transport Commissioner informed that the accused will get stringent punishment. The bus was over speeding and for this, changes have been made in the speed governor system. The bus owner got over speeding alert message twice, added S Sreejith.
