Thiruvananthapuram: The Motor Vehicle Department is preparing to tighten the inspection against law violations. As part of this, the officials will conduct a special drive called Operation Focus 3. These will start tomorrow. Officials will check the renovation work, over speeding, speed limit and light and sound systems in the buses. The decision to conduct a special inspection is for 10 days.
The motor vehicle department is going to be active on the roads after a gap. In April this year, many vehicles were seized by the officers during the inspection conducted on the basis of Operation Focus. Those who do not dim their headlights to the oncoming vehicles will also be fined.
Meanwhile, the High Court also clarified that the negligence of the drivers cannot be excused. The High Court also asked for a WhatsApp number to report traffic violations. The Transport Commissioner is responsible for road safety. Another incident like Vadakencherry should not happen again. Strict action is needed to stop careless driving. Strong action should be taken against drivers who violate the law.
