Kozhikode: Health Minister Veena George ordered strict investigation on the incident of scissors stuck during caesarean that took place in Kozhikode Medical College five years ago.
The minister ordered the additional chief secretary to conduct an inquiry and submit the report. The minister also said that strict actions will be taken against the culprits. The scissors got stuck in the middle of an obstetric surgery and it was taken out last day. Harshina Ashraf, a native of Kozhikode, had faced the negligence from the doctor. The Health Minister ordered for an investigation after receiving a complaint from Harshina’s family.
It was on 30 November 2017 Harshina underwent the surgery at Kozhikode medical college. She faced extreme pain and discomfort after the surgery. The scissors were found inside her stomach in a scan that was held at a private hospital during the last month. Later, it was taken out after a surgery that took place in the same hospital.
