Lucknow: Union Transport and Highway Minister Nitin Gadkari said that before 2024, the roads in UP will become smoother than that of the roads in the US. Gadkari said this while attending the 81st Indian Road Congress.
He also announced a package of rupees 8,000 crore for the renovation of the roads. 8,000 crore has already been sanctioned for Shahabad-Hardoi Bypass, Shahjahanpur-Shahabad Bypass, Moradabad-Thakurdwara-Kashipur Bypass and Ghazipur-Ballia Bypass. The roads in UP must become better than the US by 2024. For this, the Modi Government is going to approve a scheme worth five lakh crores in UP, SAID Nithin Gadkari.
Gadkari has attended the meeting arranged in the residence of the CM Yogi Adityanath. They discussed almost all schemes that are currently active. He also discussed his expectations from the Yogi Government.
He said that the UP Government must adopt Electric Double Decker Air Conditioned Buses for making city traffic more convenient. He requested to implement measures to stop the use of petrol and diesel gradually.
