New Delhi: 317 mobile phones that were trying to be smuggled to Bangladesh through the Pagla river were seized at the international border. They were seized by the Border Security Force at the Border Out Post in the South Bengal border.
There was secret information that phones worth Rs 38 lakh were being smuggled to Bangladesh. On October 8, around 5.30 pm, the security forces noticed banana stalks floating on the river. They were moving towards Bangladesh. With this, the security personnel seized them.
The phones worth Rs 38,83,000 were tried to smuggle by hiding them in plastic containers. The seized phones were handed over to the police. The preliminary conclusion is that there was an attempt to smuggle the phones to Bangladesh for terrorist activities.
