Bhopal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has submitted the first phase of the Mahakal Lok Corridor in Ujjain. The inaugural function was held in the presence of Shivraj Singh Chauhan, the CM of Madhya Pradesh and Mangu Bhai Pattel, the Governor of Madhya Pradesh. The PM entered the function after greeting the monks.
Sri Mahakal Lok Corridor is one of the longest corridors in the country that covers a distance of 900 metres. The Mahakal corridor has been built as part of the first phase of the Mahakaleshwar Temple renovation project. It is one of the most important Shiva temples in the country and Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga is one among the 12 Jyotirlingas in the country. The Rudrasagar lake near the temple is also being renovated as part of the Mahakaleshwar Temple renovation project.
In the next phase of the project, it includes a yoga centre and view bungalow. The Madhya Pradesh Government will spend Rs 856 crore on the project. The basic facilities of the pilgrims’ and the passengers will also be increased. 316 crore will be spent on the first phase alone.
