Unnatural death; Patient died while shifting to another hospital

Kasargod: The family has filed a complaint against a private hospital on the death of a critically ill patient who died while undergoing a surgery. Cheruvathoor native Nayana is the deceased one. Medical negligence led to the death of Nayana, alleged the family. The Police have registered a case of unnatural death in the incident.

Nayana was admitted to Shashirekha Multi Specialty Hospital, Kanhangad, on Tuesday morning. The surgery was to remove an unwanted growth inside the uterus. But during the operation, the woman’s condition became serious. With this, the doctors suggested that she be shifted to a hospital in Mangalore. But the woman died on the way to the hospital.

While the doctor from the hospital who was inside the ambulance ran away. The hospital authority declared that the death was due to a heart attack in between the operation. While the family alleges that the death is due to medical negligence.
