New Delhi: The dates of the Himachal Pradesh assembly election have been declared. The election is on 12 November and it will be in a single phase. The counting will take place on 8 December. The notification on the same will be out on 17 October and the last date of the submission of the nomination is on 25 October. The scrutiny will be held on 27 October and the last date to withdraw the nomination is 29 October.
Rajiv Kumar, the Chief operating officer said that the election will be held in compliance with the Covid restrictions. Actions will be taken to bring the voters, those who are reluctant to vote, to the voting booths. The chief election officer also said that actions will also be taken to raise the voting percentage.
On a yearly basis, there will be four chances to add names in the voters list. The Covid patients and the people above the age of 80 have the facility to vote from their home.
BJP is the ruling party of Himachal Pradesh and Congress is the major opposition.
