Sylhet: Women’s Asia Cup cricket title for India. India won the final against Sri Lanka by 8 wickets. This is India’s seventh title in the Asia Cup.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Sri Lanka could score only 65 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Sri Lankan batting was thrashed by Renuka Singh who took 3 wickets in 3 over, conceding only 5 runs including maiden wicket. Rajeshwari Gaikwad and Sneh Rana got 2 wickets each.
India started the game by smashing the batting in reply and won the title by scoring 71 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 8.3 overs. India’s top scorer is opener Smriti Manthana who scored 51 runs off 25 balls and remained unbeaten.
Renuka Singh was the player of the match for her outstanding bowling performance. India’s Deepti Sharma is the player of the tournament.
