Kannur: The additional amount paid for the PPE kit with the knowledge of the State Government, said the former health minister, K K Shylaja. She said that this is the same reply for the Lokayuktha too.
The PPE kit issue has been talked about several times inside and outside the assembly. The decision was taken jointly by the Government. It was done to save human life during the time of the pandemic.
The reason for the complaint was that the PPE kits worth Rs 500 were purchased for 1500. But the former health minister said that the action had taken place with the knowledge of the CM. She earlier said that the CM instructed her to not compromise with the quality of the product.
An order for investigation has been issued after the Lokayuktha completed its primary investigation. Along with K K Shylaja, the KMCL general manager Dr Dileep also received a notice from the Lokayuktha and the reply should be given within one month of time. The action has been taken on a complaint filed by a Congress worker Veena Nair.
