Thiruvananthapuram: Premanan, a 53 year old man, who was brutally assaulted at Kattakkada bus depot in front of his daughter by a group of KSRTC staff, has been imploring for justice since 20 September. But the police, who are supposed to maintain law and order in the state, still remain passive even after a month. Premanan told that Police has done grave mistake in taking action against the criminals. The culprits get protection from the political party too, he added. Though a compliant was submitted to the Chief Minister and DGP, everything in vain, said Premanan.
The KSRTC employees who attacked the father and daughter, had approached High Court for securing anticipatory bail. The accused Aryanad Station Master A Mohammed Sheriff, conductor N Anil Kumar, assistant C P Milan Dorich had approached the court.
Premanan, an employee of Poovachal grama panchayat went KSRTC Kattakkada bus depot with his daughter Reshma, a degree student, for renewing the concession card for students. But the staff demanded to produce the course certificate. Premanan informed them the course certificate had already submitted three months back and hence the certificate is not required to update the concession. This led to the verbal argument and ended up in assaulting Premanan and his daughter.
