Kochi: The High Court permitted bail to Jithin, the prime accused in the AKG centre attack case. Earlier, the sessions court Trivandrum rejected his bail and Jithin approached the High Court against and secured conditional bail.
The incident of hurling crackers against the AKG centre took place on 30th June this year. The delay in capturing the culprit made several allegations against the Kerala Police. Later, after a continuous search for two and half months, the police trapped Jithin, the prime accused in the case. But Jithin said that this is a cooked up story based on political revenge.
The State Government had requested the court not to grant the bail to Jithin as he is an accused in several other cases. The sessions court had cancelled his bail in this regard. But the High Court has issued the conditional bail today.
