Thiruvananthapuram: The LDF government is all set to light the lamp on Diwali to control the increasing consumption of drugs in the state. Lamp lighting on Diwali is part of the state government’s anti-drug campaigns. The government has instructed that every house in the state should light the lamp at 6 pm. Last day, as part of the campaign, a lamp was lit at the house of all the MLAs in the state.
At the same time, there is also criticism that how can the state be free from alcoholism if the lamp is lit. After criticizing the Prime Minister’s call to light the lamp as a symbol of the country’s resistance against Corona, the Left government has now commented on social media asking people to light the lamp against usage of drugs. Some others are of the opinion that they will light the lamp in the evening on Diwali whether the government asks for it or not.
