Thiruvananthapuram: The High Court will consider the contempt of court petitions related to the construction of Vizhinjam port again today. Last time, the court had said that the interim order to remove the obstructions on the road should be implemented not on the basis of circumstances. The court has also directed the government to submit the details regarding the implementation of the order today.

The High Court, while considering the contempt of court petitions last time, directed the government to take steps in the roadblocks in the construction area of Vizhinjam port and to submit the details of the implementation of the interim order to provide police security for the construction works.

The Adani group had argued that the protest site should not be destroyed and that if the police cannot do so, the central forces should be deployed. The government also informed the court that law and order is being ensured. But the court has taken the position that the government should take action no matter what the situation.
