Wayanad: The tiger that had been creating fear among the natives of Cheeral, Wayanad, for weeks was finally trapped this morning. Later, it was moved to a rehabilitation centre in Bathery. The male tiger, about 10 years old, was caught.
The image of the tiger was captured in CCTV cameras. The Forest Department informed that they will give primary treatment for the tiger as its teeth got injured and it will not be released to the forest for the time being.
The tiger attacked many animals including 13 cows. About 6 cages and more than 18 CCTV cameras were placed in the area. Earlier, a search was conducted using kumki elephants from Muthanga, but in vain. The tiger was caught because of the effort of the Forest Department.
