Alappuzha: Police arrested the thief who looted the Sreekumara Vilasam temple at Aroor Puthanangadi. The culprit Rajesh got arrested from Mavelikkara along with the stolen thiruvabharanam (the ornaments of the deity).
The incident happened last day. The ornaments and the gold case were stolen by Rajesh after breaking the shrine of the temple. The temple staff noticed the door remained open when they woke up in the morning.
CCTV footage had come out after police registered a case on the incident. The thief wore a mask at the time of the theft. An Investigation is being initiated by the Aroor police. In the footage the thief can be seen wearing a shirt and a mask. Initially the thief was seen bowing down before the deity and then stolen the ornaments, the crown, the gold case and left the place.
