New Delhi: An inquiry has been ordered into the incident where a spark was seen in the engine of the IndiGo flight. The investigation was ordered by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Last day, IndiGo 6E-2131, which was going from Delhi to Bengaluru, landed urgently. The action was taken after a fire was seen in the engine while taking off.
A detailed investigation will be conducted into the incident. Necessary action will be taken after receiving the report. The DGCA chief also said that they will check whether similar incidents have occurred in the past.
The incident took place around 9.30 pm. While taking off from Indira Gandhi Airport, sparks started coming out from the engine. When the passengers noticed this, the plane landed immediately. The spark came from under the right wing of the plane. In the wake of the incident, an alert was issued at the airport. At the same time, the footage taken by the passengers is widely circulated on social media.
Last day, the Akasha Air plane that hit a bird while flying landed immediately. A Boeing 737 Max 8 flight which was flying to Delhi was damaged after a bird struck it. The information regarding this was released by DGCA that day.
