Lucknow: Siddique Kappan, Popular Front leader who was charged under UAPA, will be staying in jail as his bail plea is rejected by the court. Kappan approached the court to secure bail in the money laundering case registered by the Enforcement Directorate.
Lucknow District Court rejected Kappn’s bail plea and the detailed verdict will be released soon. The charge against Kappan is that he had collected money from foreign countries so as to create riot in Hathras. The court rejected his plea after analysing the documents and evidences produced by the investigation team.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had granted bail to Siddique Kappan in connection with UAPA case. But he was not released from jail as the case on money laundering was yet pending in the court and hence he approached the district court to secure bail. Siddique Kappan was arrested by the U P police on October 5, in 2020.
