Kochi: Four people were arrested in the SFI and KSU conflict at Ernakulam Maharajas College. KSU unit president Athul, SFI activist Ananthu, student Malik and Hafeez who came from outside were arrested. A case has been registered against them under non-bailable sections. A case has also been filed against about 20 people in connection with the conflict.
At the same time, police have arrested Kamal (Malik’s brother) who climbed on the Thoppumpadi Bridge and threatened to commit suicide.
16 people were injured in the clash between SFI-KSU students yesterday and have sought treatment in various hospitals. The college has been closed indefinitely following the clash.
