New Delhi: In view of the death of Samajwadi Party leader and MP Mulayam Singh Yadav, the Election Commission has announced a by-election to the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat. Voting will be held on December 5. The by-elections are taking place in a situation where the parliamentary seat is vacant after the death of Mulayam Singh on October 10.
By-elections will be held on December 5 for all the five vacant assembly seats in five states of the country. Seats are vacant in the states of Odisha, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Only in Uttar Pradesh, by-elections will be held for Lok Sabha seats and assembly seats.
The by-elections are to be held in Padampur in Odisha, Sardarshahar in Rajasthan, Kurhani in Bihar, Bhanupratappur in Chhattisgarh and Rampur in UP. After the election on December 5, the results will be announced on the 8th.
