Thiruvananthapuram: Constitutional expert Fali S to take legal action against Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. The government has sought Nariman’s legal advice. The fee for Nariman and junior lawyers is Rs 45.9 lakh. The government issued an order in this regard.
The government will pay a fee of Rs 30 lakh only to Fali S Nariman for providing legal advice. 15.9 lakhs for Nariman’s juniors and clerks. As soon as the legal advice is received, the state government will take further steps to approach the court.
As the dispute between the governor and the government continues, the government is preparing to approach the court against the governor. The Government is of the view that the Governor is not performing his duty under Article 200 of the Constitution, Raj Bhavan is not taking further steps on the Lokayukta and University Act Amendment Bills and the Governor is taking this kind of action to push the state into governance crisis. It is in this situation that the government has sought legal advice on the possibility of approaching the court. At the same time, protests are also being raised against the state government.
