Chennai: The superfast express under the Vande Bharat Mission will soon begin its service in the Southern region of India too. The successful trial run took place in Chennai-Mysore route. The service started from M G Ramachandran Railway Station, Chennai. This is the fifth train of Vande Bharat series that took part in a trial run from South India. The fourth one started its service on 4TH last month at Delhi-Una route. The Blue and white painted train with fully air conditioned bogies has a speed of 160 km per hour.
The track is stronger than the current one. It has service on some specific routes only. Around 80 percent of Vande Bharat trains that have been built in India are a best example of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat. The construction cost is Rs.110 crore. In each Vande Bharat train, there are 4 AC two tier coaches and a first class AC coach.
The first Vande Bharat trains started its service on 19 February 2019 in New Delhi, Kanpur, Allahabad and Varanasi routes. The first Vande Bharat train was made within 18 months and hence given the name ‘Train 18’. 400 Vande Bharat trains have been announced in the 2022 budget.
