Kochi: The investigation agency is ready to submit the charge sheet of Elanthoor double murder case on the first week of December. The arrest of all the three accused in the case was recorded on October 12th. The police are trying hard to avoid getting bail to the culprits that they receive naturally if the charge sheet is not filed within 90 days.
Meanwhile, the main challenge faced by the police is the failure to find out some scientific evidence that is very crucial in this case. Police did not find any evidence to prove the accused had committed a third murder.
The investigation team completed interrogating them and taking evidence. The accused were produced in the Perumbavoor Magistrate court and instructed to be remanded till 19 November. The prime accused Shafi and second accused Bhagawal Singh were shifted to Viyyur Central jail. The third accused Laila was shifted to Kakkanad Jail.
The defence wing is about to submit a bail application. But the investigation team is waiting to receive the DNA, which is expected to be received within 28 November. The test result is crucial in filing the charge sheet.
