Thrissur: A mobile phone was seized from a culprit at Viyyur Central Prison again. The mobile phone was found from a terrorist named Mansheed Muhammad, who has been imprisoned in Kanakamala IS conspiracy case. There was no sim card inside the phone.
The mobile phone will be handed over to the cyber cell for a detailed evaluation. It is expected that the evaluation will help to find out the intention behind hiding the phone and also whether there is any plan to conduct anti-national activities and who delivered the phone.
Mansheed Muhammad is an accused of Kanakamala IS case occurred in 2016. He is the prime accused in the case. The presence of mobile phones inside the jail is pointing towards a serious security breach.
The Kanakamala IS case was registered by the NIA in 2016. 9 culprits were there in the NIAs Charge sheet. Seven out of them were punished by the special NIA court. The court found that Mansheed is the mastermind behind the case.
