Coimbatore: The National Investigation Agency has been conducting massive raids at 45 places at the same stretch in connection with the explosion near Kottamedu Sangameswar temple. NIA search is on around 20 locations in Coimbatore alone. This being the biggest raid by NIA for collecting more evidences and documents over the suicide bombing.
It is learned that Nijamuddeen, the second hand car dealer who had given the car for the explosion, is already taken into custody. Raids are headed by the officers of Chennai and Kochi units of NIA.
Raids are underway at Fort Medu, Ukkadam, Ponvizha Nagar and Ratnapuri. Search is held in the offices as well as the houses of terrorists who conspired and helped the explosion.
Six people have been arrested so far related to the attack. The arrested terrorists are accomplices of Jamesha Mubeen, the suicide bomber who was killed in the incident.
