Palakkad: Ottapalam sub collector’s magisterial report points out that the death of Madhu in Attappady was due to the attack by the mob. The report suggests that the attack against Madhu was an heinous crime.
There is no other special reason for the death of Madhu, it was not a custodial death. Police reached Mukkali as they received information that Madhu, an accused in various cases, had been caught. There were no injuries or marks on his body when he was taken into custody. Meanwhile he vomited and became tired later in the police jeep. Following this he was taken to Agaly Community Health Centre, but his life could not be saved, report says.
Ottapalam Sub-collector Jeromic George prepared the report. There were allegations that the death of Madhu was due to the custodial attack. In this situation a magisterial investigation was saught. This report was submitted in Mannarkkad trial court.
