New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has instructed the Tamil Nadu Government to teach medical and technical subjects in Tamil language. Various states including Madhya Pradesh have taken the decision to teach medical and technical subjects in regional languages. Amit Shah said that he is requesting the Tamil Nadu government to follow the same example.
If science and technical subjects are taught in mother tongue, the students learning in Tamil medium can also easily pick up the subjects when they enter higher studies. Shah also said that if the Tamil students get an opportunity to study and research in their mother tongue, they will be able to make better contributions in the scientific and technological fields of the Nation.
Shah announces this in the midst of some allegations that the Central Government, especially Amit Shah, is trying to impose Hindi across the nation. To promote regional languages along with the national language is the motto of the PM and the Central Government. Shah already clarified that the decision to teach science and technical subjects in regional languages is on the basis of this decision.
