Chennai: Widespread raids in various places in Chennai in connection with the suicide attack near the temple in Coimbatore. The raids are taking place at homes and other centres of suspected ISIS links. The raids are being conducted at Mannadi, Kodungaiyur, and Muthialpet.
Important documents and phones were seized from Muhammed Thafreeshik’s house. The raid is still continuing in different parts.
The NIA had conducted a raid last week in connection with the Coimbatore suicide attack. Raids were conducted in 40 places including Palakkad and Chennai. Suspects of IS connection were arrested. Phones and other devices were seized from them. Police found explosives and different articles of IS, from a vehicle which moved without stopping in a Police check post on the same day.
