Everyone has the right to protest, but don’t think to make force; will not allow Universities to be the hub of ruling party, says Governor

New Delhi: Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, while asked about his response on the Raj Bhavan march of LDF, told that everyone has got the right to protest, but never think that someone can put pressure on me. Political interference has been there in several occasions, though I was assured that there will not be such intrusion. In India, chancellor is the administering authority of universities. If the Kerala Government gives even a single example of my interference with their affairs, I am ready to resign at that very moment, said the Governor. But I can show you a thousand examples of the Government’s illegal intrusions, added Arif Mohammed Khan.

As a chancellor, I am concerned about the future of the students. Several students leave Kerala and go abroad for higher education. The school education of the State is fair, but not that of the universities.

All should respect court verdicts. That is our responsibility. I do not have any personal grudge with anyone. But I will not let anyone to intrude into the affairs of the universities, said the Governor.

Meanwhile, the Governor said that he has not received any ordinance from the Government till he started off from Kerala, and not ready to respond to the matter that he has not received.
