Kochi: A prominent model was gang raped inside a car in the city center. Three youths and a woman were taken into custody and their arrest will be recorded today.
The incident took place Thursday at around 8:30 pm, the young model arrived at a bar in Kochi with her friend. Around 10 o’clock, the woman became unconscious at the bar. With this, the youth took the young woman in the car saying that they would take her to residence. At this time, the female friend was not in the car.
The gang then traveled through different parts of the city in a car and raped the woman and finally dropped her at the residence in Kakkanad.
Minister of Health, Women and Child Development Department Veena George said that the incident is shocking. Strict action will be taken against the culprits. The Minister stated that instructions have been given to ensure adequate treatment for the girl.
A black Thar car believed to belong to the accused has also been taken into custody by the police. A native of Rajasthan and three Malayali youths are in custody. Vivek, Nidin and Sudhi, natives of Kodungallur, were arrested. The police are not ready to release their details.
