Thiruvananthapuram: The ban to travel in flight carrying coconut in irumudi has been lifted. The order regarding the decision was released by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Director today. The decision comes in the wake of Sabarimala pilgrim season. The relaxation will be till the end of Mandala Makaravilakk.
Earlier, the devotees were not allowed to carry coconut in the irumudikkett in flight. This was due to the security concerns. Now the permission is granted considering the convenience and the religious sentiments of pilgrims.
Civil Aviation Director informed that a thorough inspection will be done to travel carrying coconut in in flight.
