Bengaluru: Karnataka police has revealed a crucial finding on Shariq, the key accused in the Mangaluru blast case. Police informed Shariq’s involvement in Coimbatore blast case too. Shariq had close contact with Jamesha Mubin, who was killed in the car explosion that took place near Kottamedu Samgameswar temple in Coimbatore. The investigation team also found that Shariq had met Mubin in person just before the blast.
Mubin and Shariq had met last September at Singanellore in Tamil Nadu. The duo stayed at a lodge here for several days. Before the blast in Coimbatore, Mubin and Shariq frequently contacted via whatsapp.
The investigation team suspects the explosion in Coimbatore was a suicide blast. The information received on Mubin, the 25 year old youth who was killed in the blast, provides ample evidences on that. But the blast that took place in Mangaluru was an unexpected explosion, said the police.
Mohammed Shariq planned to conduct a massive explosion in the crowded bus stand. But the cooker bomb exploded in his shoulder bag while he was travelling in autorickshaw. CCTV footage also came out in which Shariq is seen walking with the bag in which pressure cooker bomb was kept. This visual was recorded just before the blast.
Shariq was operating all his terror activities using fake adhaar and sim cards. Police told that Shariq was staying in Mysuru as Premraj.
