Suspension in molestation case; local leadership invites Eldose Kunnappillil for party function; justifies as suspension not applicable for programmes of the constituency

Ernakulam: In a strange move, the Congress regional leadership has invited Eldose Kunnappillil, Perumbavur M L A who had been suspended from Congress over molestation case, for a party function. The name of Eldose was included in the poster of the vehicle campaign, headed by the Block President Shaji Salim.

Another poster, in connection with the programme organised by Kuruppampadi Block Congress Committee, has also printed the name and image of Eldose Kunnappillil.

Eldose has been suspended from Congress for six months as he is the accused in a sexual abuse case. The suspension was from KPCC and DCC membership. But the party’s regional leadership had justified the issue as the suspension is not applicable for such programmes in the constituency. They had also responded that Eldose has been banned only from the programmes organised by the state leadership.
