Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has written to the Union Home Ministry recommending that the investigation of the Mangalore blast case be handed over to the NIA. This was informed by Home Minister Araga Jnanendra .
The letter was given to the Ministry of Home Affairs by the Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department. The letter states that the police have registered a case under Sections 16, 38 and 39 of the UAPA Act. The letter also demanded that further action be taken under Section 6 of the NIA Act, 2008.
The state police chief had stated that the NIA and other agencies are monitoring the Mangalore blast case. However, he stated that the letter was given as part of taking up the case officially.
