Thrissur: Three youths who tried to smuggle ganja from Visakhapatnam in Chennai – Thiruvananthapuram mail to Kerala have been arrested. Bejoy (25), Livinston (21) and Mahesh (20), natives of Neyyattinkara Vellarada Nadarkonam, were arrested. Officials seized 10.250 kilograms of ganja from them.
The group was caught yesterday morning from Thrissur railway station. Palakkad RPF Crime Intelligence Wing and Thrissur RPF, Thrissur Excise Enforcement and Anti-Narcotics Special Squad arrested the accused. The seized ganja is worth around Rs 5 lakh in the public market.
A case was registered and the accused was produced before the court and remanded. Palakkad RPF Crime Intelligence Section Inspector N. Keshavdas, Thrissur RPF Inspector Ajayakumar, Thrissur Excise Enforcement and Anti-Narcotics Special Squad Circle Inspector P. Junaid were in the team. RPF SI A P Deepak, ASIs Saju K and G Pradeep, Excise Preventive Officers M M Manoj Kumar, Raghunath V and others led the operation.
