Thiruvananthapuram: Lifestyle diseases are increasing in the state, says the health department. According to a study conducted by the Department of Health, 26 percent of people above the age of 30 have diseases. Health experts say that the reason for the increase in the number of patients is the changes in lifestyle.
4,96,395 people are under treatment for high blood pressure. 4,00,837 people are diabetic patients. Of these, 18.78 percent are in critical condition. 26 percent of people over the age of thirty have lifestyle diseases. Studies by the Department of Health also show that others over the age of thirty are at risk of contracting the disease. The study was conducted on 46 lakh people.
Along with this, there are complaints of not getting medicines for lifestyle diseases. The shortage of medicine has been going on for a long time, but the health department has not been able to find a solution.
