Thiruvananthapuram: The arrest of the accused in the case of killing a mother and child by pushing them into the sea in Thiruvananthapuram will be recorded today. The main accused Mahin Kann will be charged with murder and his wife Rukiya will be charged with conspiracy. The police informed them that they will interrogate the two people in detail.

Vidya and her daughter Gauri went missing in 2011. A complaint was then filed with the police, but the police refused to investigate the incident. There was a serious failure on the part of the police that day. The police were demanding a bribe from Vidya’s mother. Although it was given, the investigation was a failure.

The mother has also told the police against Mahin Kann. But he was questioned and released. The police believed that he had dropped Vidya and the baby at a friend’s house. The police did not collect any evidence including the phone records of the woman.

Meanwhile, on August 19, 2011, Vidya’s body was recovered from Colachel and on August 23, her daughter Gauri’s body was found. It was cremated by the Tamil Nadu Police.
The case was again re-investigated as part of an investigation into IS recruiting in 2019. A special investigation team was formed to continue the investigation. The case was cleared within a month of the investigation.
