Sharon murder case; HC rejected bail plea of ​​Greeshma’s mother and uncle

Ernakulam: The HC rejected the bail application of the mother and uncle of Greeshma, the main accused in the Sharon murder case. By rejecting the application the court stated that the bail cannot be granted at the stage of investigation.

Mother Sindhu and uncle Nirmal Kumar approached the court stating that their arrest was illegal. They can only be charged for the destruction of the evidence. They are not involved in the murder. But the police have charged them with murder. This is illegal. They were taken into custody and questioned in the case. Therefore, the defendants pointed out in the petition that there is no need to take them into custody.

But the prosecution told the court that there is strong evidence against the accused. The investigation into the incident is in progress. The prosecution has also stated that the charge sheet is being prepared in this case and the granting of bail to the accused will affect the case. Accepting these arguments, the court dismissed the petition.
