Kochi: The High Court has today dismissed the public interest litigation against Governor Arif Mohammed Khan. The PIL was filed by High Court Advocate P V Jithesh, seeking to declare Governor’s action of extending his decision on the bills that were already passed by the cabinet, as anti constitutional.
The plea stated that Governor’s attitude to postpone decision on the bills passed by the cabinet is against constitution and democratic values.
Governor’s move has some political agenda. Governor has the duty and responsibility to sign the bills, the complainant said in his plea. Division bench of the HC dismissed the PIL stating there is no time limit to sign in the bills passed by the cabinet.
