New Delhi: The Union Finance Ministry has stated that GST revenue has increased by 11 percent compared to last year. Last month’s GST revenue was Rs 1,45,867 crore.
Central GST revenue last month was Rs 25,681 crore and state GST was Rs 32,651 crore. The central government also states that the Cess revenue is Rs 10,433 crore.
This is the ninth consecutive month that GST revenue has crossed the Rs 1.40 lakh crore mark. Financial experts point out that the increase in GST revenue is due to the strengthening of the rural economy and profitable festive season sales. The central government has also given Rs 17,000 crore as GST compensation to the states and Union Territories.
