Ahmadabad: The first phase of election in Gujarat has ended. 59.24% of polling has been recorded. 788 candidates contested for 89 seats. Officials said the figures released now are not final as data from some polling stations has not been received and postal ballots are included.
14,382 polling stations were ready from 8 am to 5 pm. The highest polling was recorded in Tapi district with 72.32 percent. Narmada district is in the second position with 68.09 percent. Saurashtra region is the lowest polling station with 51.34 percent. The districts like Navsari( 65.91%), Dang (64.84%), Valsad (62.46%), Gir Somnath (60.46%) recorded more than 60 percent. The second phase of the election will be held on December 5 in 14 Districts.
