Raipur: Police revealed that an American-made gun was among the weapons seized from the communist terrorists. A US-made M1 carbine was recovered from communist terrorists killed in an encounter with security forces in Bijapur. A total of four weapons were seized by the police. One of these was found to be an M1 carbine, the police said.
The encounter took place on November 26 in the Pompra forest area under Mirtoor police station in Bijapur. The security forces were able to kill four communist terrorists in the incident. The US-made gun was among the weapons recovered from them.
An investigation is in progress into the matter. The serial number of the gun is also being investigated. It is reported that similar incidents have been reported earlier. Reports suggest that German-made firearms were also recovered from communist terrorists who were killed in the encounters.
