Gujarat Election; Second phase of election ended; Recorded 58.80% polling

Gandhinagar: The final phase of voting for Gujarat elections has concluded. 58.80 percent polling was recorded till 5 pm. Polling for 93 constituencies in 14 districts was held in the second phase. Voting started at 8 am.

According to the Election Commission, Sabarkantha district recorded the highest polling with 65.84 percent till 5 pm. Less polling was recorded in Ahmedabad with 53.57 percent. Polling was recorded in Gandhinagar with 59.14%, Anand with 59.04%, Aravalli with 60.18%, Banaskantha with 65.65%, Chhota Udaipur with 62.04%, Dahod with 55.80%, Mehsana with 61.01%, and Mahisagar with 54.26%.

833 candidates from 61 parties contested in the second phase of the election. 2.1 crore of voters casted their vote. There were a total of 26,409 polling booths. 3600 electronic voting machines were used. 63.14% of polling was recorded in the first phase of the election. The counting is on December 8.
