Gandhinagar: Rivaba won in Jamnagar North constituency by over 72,000 votes. “This is not just my success, it belongs to all of us,” Rivaba responded after the results were announced. This is the victory of those who accepted me as a candidate and worked and helped to reach every person. Rivaba said that she would like to thank everyone.

Rivaba, who won 56.75 percent of the votes, has been elected as the People’s Representative from Jamnagar North with a majority of 42,405 votes. Aam Aadmi Party candidate Karshanbhai Karmur secured the second position by defeating the Congress by securing nearly 30,000 votes. Bipendrasinh Chatursin Jadeja contested for the Congress, was at the third position. He admitted his defeat with 19,678 votes.

Rivaba, wife of cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, was a public activist. Rivaba, who has always shown interest in doing service to the people, was assigned by the BJP leadership to contest in Jamnagar. Her husband, Ravindra Jadeja, came forward to seek support for Rivaba. But Rivaba’s political entry and MLA candidate had caused many controversies. Many people also criticized Jadeja who announced his support to his wife. Finally when the announcement of the final result from Jamnagar arrived, Rivaba Jadeja responded to the controversy by winning effortlessly in the first election ever in her life.

In 2017, Dharmendrasinh Merubha, who was the BJP candidate in Jamnagar North, won by a majority of 40,963 votes. It is also notable that Rivaba, who came to participate in the election for the current time, won with a greater majority.
