Chennai: Cyclone Mandous, which formed in the Bay of Bengal, made landfall in Tamil Nadu. Strong winds and rain in the coastal region of Tamil Nadu. The wind is blowing at a speed of 65 kmph. But the meteorologists say that it will reduce to an extreme low pressure in the afternoon.
In view of the cyclone warning, holidays have been given to educational institutions in six districts such as Chennai, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur, Cuddalore , Viluppuram and Ranipet. People living in low-lying areas are also advised to move to safer places.
Widespread rain is likely in Kerala today due to cyclone. The Central Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of rain at isolated places in all the districts of Kerala in the next 3 hours.
