Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the country’s sixth Vande Bharat Express train. He inaugurated the Vande Bharat train which runs from Nagpur in Maharashtra to Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis received the Prime Minister who reached Nagpur to inaugurate various development projects.
He also inaugurated the first phase of the Nagpur Metro Rail project. Then the Prime Minister took the ticket and travelled in the metro along with the students and other passengers. The Prime Minister interacted with the students who accompanied him on the metro ride from Freedom Park to Khapri. The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone to the second phase of the rail project, which is being developed at a cost of Rs 6,700 crore.
He will also lay the foundation stone for the project to renovate Nagpur Railway Station and Ajni Railway Station at a public ceremony in Nagpur. The redevelopment is being done by spending 590 crores and 360 crores respectively.
The Prime Minister will also dedicate the Government Maintenance Depot, Ajni (Nagpur) and Kohli-Narkhar Section of Nagpur-Itarsi Third Line Project to the nation. About Rs 110 crore and Rs 450 crore were spent on these projects respectively.
